A book, its chapters, its page

The catalog is organized like your imprints

Each imprint becomes a section, each title a run of chapters loaded into the Podcasts section in reading order. An article page goes with the book: synopsis, author, narrator, running time, a few lines of the text. Listeners wander through the catalog the way they would browse bookstore shelves.

The subscription library

One subscription opens the whole catalog; each title's first chapter stays free

With Memberships, the listener pays monthly or yearly, with the Apple or Google account on their phone, and every reserved chapter opens up. Leave the first chapter of each book open: that is your sample, the one that makes people want the rest. Sales start from ten reserved pieces of content: a single novel split into chapters can be enough.

Hours of listening, even offline

Chapters download, and playback carries on with the phone locked

An audiobook is a long listen: in the car, on the train, in the evening. Marked as a favorite, a chapter downloads and plays offline; in the native apps, playback carries on with the phone locked once you enable the option. Bandwidth is not billed; only storage space depends on the plan you choose, with more on Pro.

From catalog to library: four steps

In the back office, one title after another.
  1. Imprints

One section per imprint: crime, children's, nonfiction.
  2. Chapters

Each file in its place, the first one open, the following ones reserved.
  3. Title pages

One article per title, with synopsis, author and narrator.
  4. Subscription

Monthly, yearly or both, priced separately on each store, plus a free trial if you decide so.

Every new release announced

A new title comes out, and your listeners know it

When a book comes out, a manual push announces it to everyone, or only to non-subscribers with its first chapter free: targeting by subscription status is built in. For a book loaded all at once, prefer this manual push to the section's automatic push, which would fire for each chapter published.

AI to pick the next book

“Which audiobook should I pick for a three-hour train ride?”

The Chatbot draws on your title pages, published as articles, and links to the books it mentions. For a visitor with no subscription, it sticks to the pages that are open to all.

The listening-time picker

Ask, in the back office, for a section that sorts your titles by running time: the AI Extension Builder builds it into the app, in your design. Only an example; you describe the section you need.

The new title's page written in Claude

Once Claude, or another assistant, is plugged into the app with the MCP server, it writes the title page from the back-cover copy and schedules the release push, as soon as you give the go-ahead.

The price of an audiobook app

The subscription library lives in the native apps: Premium, completed by Memberships, or Pro, which integrates it. Your chapters use the storage space the plan provides; push and updates cost nothing more.
Premium · native apps and web app$55 /month, billed yearly
Memberships, added to Premium$49 /month
Pro · subscriptions integrated$105 /month, billed yearly
GoodBarber earns nothing on your subscriptions; Apple and Google apply their commission, often 15%. Developer accounts are billed by the stores.

Audiobook app: your questions

Can I sell a single audiobook?

Not in this app: every subscriber gets the same access, and the subscription opens the entire reserved catalog. It is the model of a library, not a bookstore. Leave each title's first chapter open so people discover your books.

How do I help a listener wondering which audiobook to pick?

Take care of the title pages: synopsis, running time, narrator, excerpt. The Chatbot relies on them to recommend a title, and the app's search finds an author or a title across the catalog.

Is a twelve-hour book too heavy for the app?

Split into chapters, no: each chapter is a file, and plays are not billed to you for bandwidth. The total size of the catalog does count toward your plan's storage space.

Can chapters be heard offline?

Yes: the listener marks a chapter as a favorite to download it, then hears it with no network, on a plane or abroad.

Can I give a free subscription to an author or a journalist?

Yes: you grant, from the back office, a free subscription to whoever you choose, for the length of time you set.

Which plan suits an audiobook library?

Premium, to be completed by Memberships, or Pro, which contains it. Selling also takes a web app running on your own domain name.
